As you come into Union from the west on Route 17 (you will not see the town itself
because Route 17 bypasses to the north of the town common) proceed past tall signs
for the John Deere and New Holland farm equipment dealerships to the north.
Continue eastward on Route 17 past Come Spring Cafe on the right. The next
intersection is Route 131 southbound. Brooder House Auction Service is located
on the northeast corner of this intersection. Thompson Community Center is
visible from the intersection and is about a hundred yards to the south along
the right side of Route 131. You can't miss it.
From Camden/Rockport/Rockland:
If you are starting in Camden/Rockport,
take Route 90 through Rockport and turn right (westward) onto Route 17. From Rockland,
take Route 17 all the way. Proceed through Hope, past MicMac Market and the Union
Middle School. You will shortly arrive at the junction of Routes 17 and 131. Brooder
House Auction Service is located on the northeast corner of that intersection.
Thompson Community Center is visible from the intersection and is about a hundred
yards to the south along the right side of Route 131.
From
Belfast:
Take Route 3 towards Augusta.
In Belmont, turn left (southward) onto Route 131. Follow Route 131 through Sersmont
and Appleton to Union, where it intersects with Route 17. Turn left (eastward)
onto Route 17 and go about one mile - Come Spring Cafe is on the right. The
next intersection past Come Spring Cafe is Route 131 southbound. Brooder House
Auction Service is located on the northeast corner of this intersection. Thompson
Community Center is visible from the intersection and is about a hundred yards
to the south along the right side of Route 131.
From Waldoboro/Portland/All
Points South:
Following coastal Route
1 northward into Waldoboro, about 3/4 mile past the famous "moody's Diner"
is Route 235. Turn left onto Route 235 and follow it to Union where it enters
the Union Common (Post Office on left of intersection). Turn right aonto Common
Road and continue past the Union Town Hall and fire station. At the T intersection
with Route 131 South, the Thompson Community Center is to your immediate right.
To your left a short bit is the intersection with Route 17. Brooder House
Auction Hall is across this intersection.
