	Sterling Ambulance is a locally owned and operated family business providing local and long distance ambulance transfers throughout the Northeast as well as nonemergency medical transfers from home, nursing homes and boarding homes to regional medical facilities with return service, if needed, once you are discharged. Our staff are fully trained and many are volunteers on local ambulance services. Specialty Transport is another quality service provided by Sterling Ambulance. We offer handicap accessible transportation for any reason. We are available for medical/professional appointments, shopping, family events, or just to get out of the house. We are now available for emergency ambulance response in the Towns of Union, Appleton, Washington, Hope, Rockport, and Rockland.     Our other services include hospital to hospital transfers, hospital to nursing home/skilled nursing facility transfers, non-emergent ambulance transportation from residences and nursing homes, as well as stand-by event coverage. We bill all major insurance companies including Medicare and MaineCare.     Another service offered is our handicapped accessible wheelchair van. This is available throughout the region for any type of appointments, transportation to special events, shopping trips, or just to "get out of the house". For those who qualify, we direct bill MaineCare for covered services.
